One team from the first audit to the NOC in your hand
A Fire NOC (No Objection Certificate) is issued by the local fire department after it confirms that a building’s fire protection and life safety arrangements meet the applicable standards — under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006 and the fire safety part of the National Building Code 2016. It is needed before occupation and has to be renewed as the local authority requires.
Most delays come from small, avoidable gaps: an extinguisher past its service date, an alarm panel showing faults, a blocked exit, a pump without a test certificate, or papers that do not match the site. FIRENET finds and fixes these first, prepares the file, and stays with you through the inspection until the certificate is issued.
Who usually needs a Fire NOC
- High-rise residential and commercial buildings (commonly above 15 m — thresholds depend on the local rules)
- Hospitals, nursing homes and clinics above the applicable size
- Schools, colleges and hostels
- Hotels, restaurants, banquet and assembly halls
- Factories, warehouses and godowns, especially with combustible or hazardous material
- Shops, malls and offices where the local authority or a licence requires it

Frequently Asked Questions
The fire department of the local authority — the PMC Fire Brigade for Pune city, the PCMC fire department for Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the PMRDA fire department for areas under PMRDA. The building owner or occupier applies; FIRENET prepares the documents and the installations and follows up.
It depends on the building, how complete the documents are and the fire department’s workload. Gaps found in our pre-audit are fixed before applying, which avoids most delays. We give you a realistic plan after the site visit.
The renewal cycle is set by the local authority and depends on the type of building. The half-yearly Form B (January and July) is required in any case for buildings covered by the Maharashtra Fire Act.
The Fire NOC is the fire department’s approval. Form A certifies new or upgraded fire installations, and Form B certifies twice a year that they are maintained — both are issued by a Licensed Agency such as FIRENET.
